A Banner for Events!
We are buying a banner for use at demos and various club functions. Here’s a sneak preview of what it will look like!

A Day With Beth Ireland
On Saturday, April 23rd, 2011, CCW is hosting an all-day (10am-4pm) event with Beth Ireland. We will be one of her stops on her Turning Around America tour. 🙂 Come join us to learn about using the bandsaw along with the lathe to make interesting and unique pieces. For more information, see our flyer, and here is a form for early registration.
March 2011 Meeting Reminder
Please plan to attend our regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Clarke Central High School Construction Technology Lab. Bill Gohdes will demonstrate the process of preparing a log into a rough form for a bowl turning. He will demonstrate chain saw safety and sharpening and the use of a power plane to assist in roughing the blank in preparation for turning.
Also, CCW has been invited to provide finished turned pieces for display at the Athens Regional Library. We ask you to please bring a turned item to the Monday March 28 meeting so that we can, in turn, provide them to the Library.
Please make note that the meeting for Saturday, April 23rd will be the Beth Ireland demonstration to be held at the Lyndon House from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be BYO or travel to a local restaurant from noon until 1:00 p.m.
For those members who have checked out library materials, remember they are due back at the beginning of the meeting. See Nancy Graham for check-in/check-out.
Remember to bring an item for raffle along with money for tickets.
