Our demonstrator for the month is Peggy Schmid. She will be demonstrating turning natural edge platters and adding texture to the turned piece. Turning platters can be challenging, especially if it has a natural edge. She will show her method for mounting and turning natural edge burls with irregular edges and surfaces. She will also show how she incorporates textures and color to enhance the design. there are a multitude of opportunities when texturing and she will show how to take patterns from nature and how to balance these patterns optically. This proves to be a unique turning experience. Check out her web page at www.peggyschmid.com . Look forward to seeing you there.
